We are so excited to welcome Hilary McAlister to the studio this week! Tomorrow we will get to soak in all she has to offer! We are so grateful for this opportunity to learn from her!🤍

Hilary McAlister was born and raised in Oklahoma City where she fell in love with dance and knew from an early age she was created to move. She began teaching and choreographing at the young age of 14 under the guidance of CeCe Farha who was able to pinpoint Hilary’s gifting early on. Hilary’s desire is to create a safe and honest learning environment. Her greatest joy in teaching is seeing the moment a dancer truly believes in themselves whether it comes from mastering a new skill, being encouraged by the community around them, or recognizing they have an artistic voice that matters. Hilary is blessed to lead dancers through her training program INTENT and her professional contemporary company Meraki. She also is the owner and founder of The Experience Dance Convention. Hilary has been featured in Canvas Rebel and Edmond Way for her creative impact on the community. She believes dance is the language of the soul, which can move us to feel and experience something greater than ourselves and she feels blessed to be able to contribute to our world with something as beautiful as dance.

We welcome Miss Cheryl Priess Dickey to the studio this week!
•
Miss Cheryl was the proud Owner of the “Cheryl Priess Dickey School Of Dance” for over four decades in Lincoln, Nebraska. Currently, she resides in Wichita, Kansas teaching Advanced Technique Classes in Kansas and across the Nation. This year in 2025, Miss Cheryl celebrates her 51st year as
a Dance Educator, teaching Master Classes, Intensives, and Workshops in Classical Ballet, Lyrical, Contemporary, Tap, Jazz, Body Placement, Theraband training, Strength
and Conditioning, Acro, and Voice. She studied and trained at both the University of Nebraska and Ballet West in Utah. Miss Cheryls name is synonymous in Dance Education
focusing on correct Ballet technique and placement. Miss CPD continues to produce talented dancers that are nationally and internationally recognized! The “CPD
Performing Dance Company” and “CPD Intermix” are her pride and joy.
During her many years in Lincoln, Nebraska, Miss Cheryl served as Assistant Ballet Director of the “Lincoln City Ballet Company.” She Choreographed for the nationally televised show, “Strawberry Square” for Public
Television Network. Her list of choreography is extensive, winning many regional and national awards. Cheryl holds the title of, Mrs. Nebraska, 1995 and encourages her students to pursue the pageant and the
competition stage. Many of her former students hold current titles and have received numerous college scholarships in dance. She’s very proud of her students that have also chosen teaching careers and owning dance
studios across the nation, continuing her technical training regimen with proper Ballet technical training. Over the past 12 years, Cheryl enjoys her second career
as a National Director, for “In10sity Dance” National Dance Competition. Cheryl also continues to serve as a National and
International Adjudicator for both Dance and Beauty Pageants. She was also selected as one of nations Top 10 Adjudicators by Dance Studio Magazine.

Meet your teachers!
•
Our int/adv teacher is Mrs. Leslie!
Leslie received her formal training under Kari Kohls- Bruch with the Starfire Dance Company, and is currently on staff as a choreographer. She also trained under some of the best in the business including Judy Rice, Barry Youngblood and the late Gregg Russell. As a dancer, Leslie assisted many projects, including Opening Number for Starlight Dance Productions. Many of Leslie’s students have gone on to further their education and pursue a career in dance. Most notably Julliard, SMU, University of Oklahoma Pom, University of Kansas Rock Chalk Dancers, Kansas City Chiefs Cheerleaders, Odyssey Dance Theatre and several Cirque du Soleil productions. She currently coaches the State Champion Edmond Memorial Pom Squad and teaches at Epic Dance Studio. She spends most of her time setting competitive material and teaching Master Classes for studios around the country. She loves to share her passion with this next generation of dancers and she wishes to instill the hard work and perserverance she was taught growing up in the amazing dance industry. Leslie lives in Edmond with her husband Will, son Wilder (6) and daughter Layker (4).

Our beginner teacher is Ms. Macy!
Macy began dancing at the age of two and has been passionate about it ever since. She is a DreamCatchers alum and has also returned as a teacher and choreographer for the company. Macy spent two seasons as a member of the Potawatomi Fire dance team, performing at games and community events. She recently earned her bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University, where she focused on elementary education and counseling. Macy now serves as the technique and choreography coach for Chandler Junior High and High School Pom, where she has had the opportunity to contribute to the teams’ success, including a combined seven state championships. Outside of dance, she loves playing with her dog and spending quality time with her friends and family.

Meet your teachers!
•
Our Int/Adv instructor is Mrs. Heather Ashwood! Heather Ashwood grew up as a competition dancer in the Minnesota dance scene. She trained at Butterfield Gallery of Dance, and spent her free time and summer vacations traveling for workshops and conventions.
She went on to graduate with honors and a degree in Dance Management from Oklahoma City University. Heather ran a dance studio for 10 years in Chandler, Oklahoma, and has been teaching ballet for the DCDC competition team for the last year. She also continues to enjoy teaching workshops and substitute teaching, with a focus on foundational technique. Heather loves to teach ballet & believes it is the secret to finding success in all styles as a well rounded dancer.

Our beginner instructor is Ms. Marlee Affy! Marlee grew up dancing at DreamCatchers since the age of three and is a proud alumni. After graduation she returned as a DreamCatchers staff member and choreographer for all ages and levels. She just finished her first season on Oklahoma Baptist University Dance as a member of the Nationals team. She had the opportunity to attend NDA camp and nationals where she competed in both pom and jazz. Marlee is also a part of the Potawatomi Fire dance team where she performs at all home games. In her spare time, Marlee loves reading, watching movies, walking her dog, and spending time with loved ones.
